On Friday at 10:15 am - APA is sponsoring author and educator Robert Levine for a program titled: Understanding the Issues of Copyright Law in an Age of “Free” Media.
For the past decade since Napster shook up the music business, we have been hearing about the conflict between big media companies and young people who love the Internet. In my book, “Free Ride,” I show that what we’re really seeing is a conflict between two groups of companies: the creators – companies that produce and fund culture, and the technology start-ups that want to distribute their work without paying for it. I will review the methods by which licensing affects photographers in today’s media markets, and discuss methods for photographers to protect their interests.
