Letter from the APA National President – January 2010

I for one am happy to see 2009 slip in to the past. With the loss of my mom and the loss of some revenue need I say more?

The beginning of a new year always brings great promise and it is important to set reasonable and doable goals so as not to let that promise slip away.  For me, I am focusing on staying creative and testing with innovative and fun people while maintaining my marketing. The fall in the economy has brought new opportunities for us as photographers, some of them fun and challenging and some not so much. I look forward to incorporating video into what and how I shoot and look to the events APA and other organizations have happening this year to guide me in that direction.

While I stay hopeful for the new year even a bit excited with what is possible it’s quite the contradiction to what is happening in Haiti. Please remember to make a donation through the Red Cross simply by texting “Haiti” to 90999 or to the charity of your choice.  Please just make sure it is legitimate as there is always someone out there to take advantage of a devastating time like this.  A small gesture of $10 can go a long way.

Happy New Year!

Theresa Raffetto

APA President
